Annette Funicello, an American singer and actor. Most famously, she was one of the Mickey Mouse Club's "Mouseketeers". She began singing when she was a teenager, and later became popular for the smash song "Tall Paul" as well as "Pineapple Princess." Born and raised in Utica, to Italian parents who were immigrants from Italy, Annette was a shy young girl. She wished to build a career in the entertainment business and quickly turned to dancing and acting. In the mid-1950s, she played in numerous Disney sketches as one of the "Mouseketeers" and gained significant fame. Later in her life, Annette shredded her 'Disney' persona and appeared in numerous adult characters. As one of first actors, she was acknowledged as the first to introduce the "beach" style of party. She appeared in films such as 'How to Stuff a Wild Bikini and 'Pajama Parties' and 'Beach Parties.' Annette continued to record occasionally. Annette was initially diagnosed with MS 1992. The year 2013 was the year she died of the disease.
